Having lived and worked as a teacher and translator for 11 years in Greece, and as a simultaneous interpreter into Greek and English at the European Union for the last 29 years, I have a thorough professional command of Modern Greek language and culture.
My teaching activity includes a series of intensive courses in advanced Modern Greek for interpreters at the European Union. I also taught French-English conference interpretation at the University of Louvain in Belgium for 11 years. My teaching is highly communicative, inquiry-based and focused on engaging students’ interest and motivation.
I hold a BA in East Asian Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in Conference Interpretation from the University of La Laguna in Spain and a Master of Advanced Studies in Education and Interpreter Training from the University of Geneva. I am currently a PhD candidate in Linguistics and Translation at the University of Louvain in Belgium, with the research presented in this draft thesis.
I also hold the Eurolta Diploma 2 in Teaching Modern Greek to Adults. In 2024, I taught an intensive Greek course for the Kallinikeion Institute at the Hellenic College in Boston.
